(detailed information about this entry from Wikipedia)
Weeds is a Showtime dark comedy television series about a fictional California suburb and its residents, a handful of whom are involved in the distribution and consumption of cannabis (hence the title). The first season has finished its run with ten episodes. It was also the highest rated series for Showtime in 2005 [1]. Filming of a second season will take place in LA spring 2006 and is slated to be broadcast summer 2006.
Nancy Botwin is a mother living in suburban California, whose husband suddenly dies, leaving her to support her two children. Nancy begins dealing "weed" to locals of her suburb, Agrestic, to maintain her upper-middle class lifestyle. Nancy's major clients include her accountant Doug Wilson and lawyer Dean Hodes. Dean's wife, Celia Hodes, is head of the local PTA and friend of Nancy. Heylia James, assisted by her nephew Conrad, supplies Nancy with marijuana. Andy Botwin, brother of Nancy's late husband, is the family's black sheep, and is constantly causing mischief.
Cast
* Justin Chatwin plays Josh Wilson in the pilot episode, but then leaves the cast, since he was filming War of the Worlds. However, the producers plan to bring him back full time for the show's second season.[2]
