...And Justice for All is a 1979 film which tells the story of a Baltimore defense lawyer who finds himself blackmailed into defending a corrupt judge charged with rape, even though he personally loathes his client. It stars Al Pacino, Jack Warden, John Forsythe, Lee Strasberg, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Lahti and Craig T. Nelson.
This film includes the famous segment in which Pacino shouts at Warden, "YOU'RE out of order! YOU'RE out of order! THE WHOLE TRIAL is out of order! THEY'RE out of order!"
The movie was written by Valerie Curtin and Barry Levinson. It was directed by Norman Jewison.
...And Justice For All was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Pacino) and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen (Curtin and Levinson). It also received a Golden Globe nomination for Pacino's lead acting performance. This film represented the second time Pacino was nominated for these awards for a performance alongside his famed acting teacher, Strasberg, as a supporting player.
