Matchstick Men is a 2003 film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell and Alison Lohman. It is based on the novel Matchstick Men by Eric Garcia.

Roy Waller (Cage) is a phobia-addled con artist who lives a life filled with problems and miseries. His one friend, Frank (Rockwell), is a younger con man who works with Roy in setting up scams against weaker people. Their usual heist is to sell the victims something useless at a huge price.

All is normal for the two of them until Roy learns from his new psychiatrist that he has a fourteen-year-old daughter named Angela (Lohman). This throws Roy for a loop, but once he gets to know her, life takes a strange yet very pleasant turn for him. Then Frank pushes him into setting up a long con against tough-guy Chuck, which makes things more than a little complicated.
